  1. The Portland market includes Clark, Cowlitz, Klickitat, Skamania, and Wahkiakum counties. All the cable systems in those counties carry the major Portland stations. Comcast in Longview-Kelso also picks up KOMO. Spectrum cable in Cathlamet has all four Seattle network afffiliates in addition to Portland. The ma-and-pa cable company in Goldendale adds KOMO and KING. Wave Broadband in Stevenson does not take any Seattle channels.

Over the air, Longview-Kelso get a fair signal from Portland. (KPTV has a translator in Longview.) Klickitat and Skamania counties get a fair signal from translators in The Dalles. Also, while Pacific County is in the Seattle market, it has Portland translator coverage from Grays River-Lebam and Astoria.

  2. I might be in the minority here but I really like him. I would like to see more of him vs. Preston Phillips who my husband and I just cannot warm up to. Everything seems to be so urgent for that one. On the other hand, Ryan Simms seems to be very personable.

  3. Wow 15 years.

But recently when I watch him I get tired of his head moving around like a bobblehead and he uses his hands too much.

He reminds me of Denise Whitaker she can’t stand still what she’s talking on camera her head’s going up down right left constantly he’s the same way

    1. Many talking heads do the same. I suppose if you can’t express it simply with words, you need to emphasize with your head and hands. How else will you communicate “what they need to know”?

  4. If he hasn’t worked in Portland, he hasn’t really worked in every market in Washington. The part of the Portland market north of the Columbia has a bigger population than the entire Spokane market.

    1. I hadn’t thought about that market reaching beyond Vancouver, WA. but I am guessing some Portland channels are either visible over the air or at least rebroadcast on Longview/Kelso cable?
