Dori Monson was her mentor. I try to catch her podcast a couple times a week, depending on the topics.
I knew that. Many people thought she might succeed him. I suspect it would have helped their ratings dive.
On KIRO I always felt she new the subject she was reporting on, was well prepared, and also well spoken.
