KGHP-FM station manager Spencer Abersold saw the proverbial writing on the wall that his job was nearing an end. He had been hearing rumblings that the 35-year-old Peninsula School District owned-and-operated radio station was on the chopping block. The demise of the local public radio stations started in 2020 when the district stopped offering a broadcasting class at PHS after longtime instructor Leland Smith retired. KEY PENINSULA NEWS
