Tribune Publishing shareholders authorized the hedge fund Alden Global Capital to buy the company. The Chicago Tribune and associated newspapers face drastic layofffs and closure of some of the publications. All in the name of the almighty dollar.

I miss the 8-column newspapers of the past. The newspapers were killed off by their own business practices as well as the Internet.
I do check it daily to take a look at the very expensive houses for sale that I could never afford. Fun to look though.
