I heard “KOMA in Oklahoma!” in ’63 loud and clear driving between Seattle and Sun Valley. I recall them using the same jingles as KOL or KJR. Fun listening!
Even singing time checks: “Time marches on in Seattle, it’s now eleven after three” and “Time marches on with KOMA, it’s now eleven after three”.
No energy in this one for sure. This could pass for small market radio if we didn’t know the call letters. The same could be said for a lot of what is on the air in Seattle these days. No energy, no originality, no personality.
Not the same high-energy rockin’ KOMA I remember from the 1970s. The same could be said about a lot of stations, though.
