Time for some Seattle radio station to cue up the Christmas music…October 1964- Frank Sinatra sells his interest in KJR Seattle, KXL Portland and KNEW Spokane to partners Danny Kaye and Lester Smith. They form Kaye-Smith Enterprises, with Kaye having majority ownership. (Smith bought out Danny Kaye in 1981.)…November 2014, 1240 KGY Olympia sold to Sacred Heart Radio Inc. Call letters changed to KBUP… November 1996- The Green River Foundation purchased silent radio station KENU Enumclaw, so that Green River Community College students would have internship possibilities at KENU — 1330 is now used by Green River Community College, for their student-run station, KGRG…November 2010- 1590 KLFE Changed from Christian talkradio to Conservative talkradio…November 1926, KVI radio goes on the air from studios in Tacoma. The station had various dial positions [1280/1060/760] before settling at 570 AM…November 7, 2010 [Sunday, one day ahead of scheduled switch] – KVI switched from conservative talk to Oldies rock ‘n roll. DJs to be introduced in January 2011: Tom Hutyler and Marina Rockinger mornings, Mark Christopher PM drive time, and Ric Hansen in the evening. “Seattle’s Greatest Hits – 570 KVI” – KVI switched back to Conservative Talk in January 2013…SEATTLE CHANNEL presents “Front Row” video of the KIRO Radio presentation of DRACULA.
