I first heard of KOL when our family talked of Burl getting the nighttime gig there. Late 60s. I remember when Burl came down to visit. We visited at his mom and dad’s (Aunt Dorothy and Uncle Dave) house on Division in Walla Walla. He sat on the living room floor with long black hair.
