Chris Daniels Leaves KING 5

Thanks to Daron for the heads up on this yesterday — official notification today: Chris Daniels leaves KING 5, today is his last day at the station. Daniels tweeted that he has accepted a new position and is staying in Seattle.

  1. I agree. What’s up with King though? They seem to not hold on to good employees. I see many of their reporters/newscasters on competing local stations : Jesse Jones, Rebecca Stevens, Tracy Taylor, Chris Daniels, and more.
    Also – it appears that 4 is trying to carve out a right-leaning niche, perhaps to reach the Eastern Washington market. My sister quotes some of their reporting and she lives in Kennewick.
    I do watch them, but only if King News isn’t on during the weekend mornings because of sports, etc. The difference is clear.

  2. Really like Chris but won’t watch him on 4. It’s far too right leaning and not thorough enough with news stories. King 5 seemed to stay out of a view and in the middle.

    Gosh here it is all these months passed before I found that Chris had left. The reason I didn’t know he left because I haven’t watched KING since I was a small child but 5 had gone down and losing fine professionals. It’s great Chis made a good space for him. Thanks for your work all those 19 years.
