Memories of boot camp at Coast Guard Alameda, late ’61 and early ’62.
The first oldies station I ever heard, KKIS Pittsburg.
“Nine Bay Area counties report BIg Bay Bannerlines to K-E-W-B Oakland!”
I’m listening right now to KABL 960, in the air everywhere since 1959.
AM radio, frequency response 0-5000 cycles, sure sounded good back then.
In 1959, KTAC carried the Del Courtney variety show which originated in San Francisco over KSFO.
