My first radio job in summer 1970 was at KOQT in the brief time Bob and Ruth Waters had the station. They were losing money and gave it to a church. That then 1000 watt daytimer has had 50kw and different calls for maybe 25 years now. I have a friend who goes back to the days of Bamford, Silkwood and Joe Tyrrell.
So much drama for a radio station I’ve never heard of until this article and I thought I knew classic radio history in the area. Looks like there was more entertainment off air, that was the fatal problem.
