POSITION PURPOSE:

Bonneville Seattle is looking for an enthusiastic and driven individual to develop, engage, and grow digital audiences for the Bonneville Seattle Media Group. This Director of Digital Content will shape the Company’s voice and brands through digital channels. They will work in close cooperation with Seattle staff and management, and with corporate resources, to ensure that all digital media make a full contribution to the Company’s business objectives in Seattle.

They will create the proper organization and staffing to meet the Company’s digital objectives; provide oversight and guidance for all digital distribution channels, including Web, apps, audio and video, and social channels; collaborate with the sales group to grow digital revenue all the while ensuring that all digital initiatives are in harmony with the Company’s mission and values, and its other media properties, including radio stations.

Note: This is a hybrid on-site/remote role that requires the employee to regularly work at our Seattle site.

In order to work on Company premises, or with clients / members of the public at other locations, Bonneville employees must provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19 or evidence of a negative COVID-19 test within the previous seven days.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide vision and strategy in growing and engaging with Bonneville Seattle’s digital audience.
Establish conceptual and creative direction on digital platforms and brands.
Lead and manage digital content staff, projects and workflow (including recruitment, training, coaching, goal-setting and performance feedback).
Enhance Bonneville Seattle’s radio stations’ brands and support radio audience growth using digital channels. Maximize digital platforms as effective communications medium for stations, with image and branding in mind.
Provide oversight and guidance in production, gathering, editing and updating content for Bonneville Seattle’s digital properties.
Provide editorial vision and voice to our digital properties and cultivate distinct brand identities for Mynorthwest.com, 710sports.com, and individual Bonneville shows, hosts, reporters and contributors.
Regularly use digital analytics to understand audiences across each digital platform. Communicate and teach others of results and audience trends.
Create and maintain a culture of collaboration, innovation and excellence.
Oversee social media initiatives and KPIs, and promote best practices in use of social channels.
Remain current on digital media technology, software, applications and other relevant developments in a fast-evolving marketplace; Continually learn digital trends and be able to work effectively in development and implementation.
Work closely with corporate development team on lauching new products and maintaining systems.
Coordinate with technical teams and IT to ensure systems are functioning properly, and projects are executed.
Ensure online systems are properly functioning daily: streams, data feeds, ad servers, etc.
Continually develop and extend knowledge of digital marketing through social media, email, and mobile.
Build and manage special sections or pages in Website content management system.
Take the lead in evaluating, selecting and managing relationships with digital vendors.
Assist sales staff and managers in developing new digital revenue to the Company. Ensure that digital platforms support sales initiatives.
Maintain functional understanding of radio programming and formats, including news, talk and sports.
Communicate effectively at all levels of the organization. Offer innovative ideas and suggestions.
Serve as a positive and productive member of the Seattle leadership team, building productive relationships with all employees and continually enhancing the workplace culture.
Achieve the Company’s digital media objectives within budget parameters and established deadlines.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

Four-year college degree in computer science, communications, marketing, journalism, or equivalent.
At least two (2) years proven successful experience leading large scale digital content property.
At least one (1) year of proven successful experience managing a team of employees.
Demonstrated skills in writing, editing, grammar, proofreading, and journalism.
Knowledge of content management systems and basic HTML.
Well-versed in social media trends and SEO best practices.
Proven success in leadership, management, team-building, and execution of complex projects.
Ability to organize, analyze and interpret statistical data. Demonstrated skills in using digital analytics to make decisions, draw conclusions and follow through.
Able to be a self-starter and work independently with little supervision.
Proven ability to handle stress and multi-task.
Ability to consistently work hours required. Works more when required to meet deadlines including weekends, evenings, etc.
Work effectively in a team environment.
Maintain a positive rapport with co-workers, vendors, and clients.
Project an appropriate professional appearance and demeanor.
PREFERRED, BUT NOT REQUIRED:

Previous newsroom experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Receive, process, and maintain information through oral and/or written communication effectively.
Substantial physical movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
Ability to extend hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction with good eye and hand coordination.
