Jordan Wilkerson Leaving For Florida TV

‼️ LIFE UPDATE ‼️ This is definitely bittersweet (cliché, I know) but I’m going back to my roots. 🦩
The NAVY brought my husband and me to WA in 2010. I had never lived outside of Florida at that time (I was in my 20s) and I’ll admit, I didn’t enjoy my first year here. However, that did change and I grew to absolutely love it! While here (far from any family or friends) I enrolled at the University of Washington Tacoma for communications, completed my internship with Steve Pool KOMO and ultimately made my dreams a reality. We left after almost five years, went to Charleston for a few and then came back here in 2017 for my husband’s final tour. He retires this summer! 🥳 While here this time, I earned my meteorology degree from Mississippi State University and started working for KING 5.
These last few years have been so amazing. Not only have I grown as a meteorologist/reporter, I have grown as a person. I feel like I really fell into my own here and I am so grateful for everything I have achieved and gained (including friends) at KING.
So now what? Well, I’m transferring to our sister station WTLV/WJXX in Jacksonville, FL to co-host First Coast Living (its version of New Day NW). Y’all know that is right up my alley. So, what about weather? Oh, they’ll be using me for hurricane coverage, no doubt. 😅
To say I’m excited is an understatement (especially since I have close family there) but that doesn’t mean I’m excited to leave. WA has been our home for almost 10 years! I will miss so much. ❤️
Thank you, KING, for giving me a chance and allowing me to flourish. And, thank you at home for giving me the opportunity to inform you and hopefully make you smile/laugh along the way. 🙂
My last day at KING 5 is Sunday, March 14th. My first day at FCL is Monday, March, 22nd. Am I crazy?! Yes, the answer is yes. 🤪
I hope you continue following me and my journey (cross-county road trip) on social media! Twitter/Instagram: @jordanwtv

  1. Miss you Jordan!!!! Seattle won’t be the same!!! Anyways good luck in your endeavors. Who knows maybe you’ll come back to THE PNW!!! Take care Jordan.

  2. THAT’s why I haven’t seen her lately!
So sorry to see Jordan leave.
I’ve really enjoyed watching her on KING TV (especially with Amidty Addrisi).
I do want to wish Jordan and her husband all the luck in the world on their new venture.
(…psst…you’re always welcome back, if you guys end up missing the NW too much…mum’s the word 😉 )

  3. You are one of our favorite KING5 people. Sad for us, and glad for you. You really connect on a human level, and I’m certain a lot of that is because of your ties to your roots in Florida. Really appreciated seeing you and your puppy during the height of quarantine. Best wishes to you.

  4. You’ll be missed! You were so bubbly and full of energy! Made a good start to the weekend! Wishing you all the best in your new life! Our loss is your family’s gain! Best of luck in everything!!

  5. My husband and I have so enjoyed watching Jordan Wilkerson on KING 5 news. She was always so positive and upbeat. She always came across as a very caring personable person! We will really miss her. Thank you Jordan for making the news so much more enjoyable.

  6. While I’m excited you’ll be super close to family, I’m sad for myself to see you go. You’ve been an absolute pleasure to watch and listen to. You were a highlight to begin my weekend days. Truly!
Wishing you great success in your new endeavors. They’re VERY lucky to get you!

  7. Good luck Jordan. Galina, my partner loves your positive attitude. In Russia newscasters never smiled and were very serious. I remember seeing you in the Grey’s Anatomy building a few times. Your on air presence reminds me of the great Steve Pool who I really miss seeing! Good luck! Bet you don’t miss our weather, but no city in the USA beats our beautiful setting of mountains and water.

  8. Sunday mornings just won’t be the same. First Amity leaves and now Jordan. No offense to the current Sunday morning news team. Jordan and Amity made for a cheerful Sunday morning newscast and will be missed. Happy travels Jordan, stay safe on the plane😉

  9. Best of luck Jordan on your journey. Enjoyed seeing your smile and your broadcasting is awesome. I’m sure you are so excited to be back with family and friends.

  10. Wow, I will truly miss seeing Jordan. She is a constant breath of fresh air. She’s right, a show like ‘New Day’ seems designed for her smart, positive personality. Hard to replace, for sure. Best of success.

  11. Congratulations, Jordan, it has been our pleasure to have you brightening our newscasts. Jacksonville will be lucky to have you!

  12. I lived in Jacksonville for 5 years. Great city. Enjoy the new look Jaguars and Jacksonville Landing. Best of luck!!!

  13. She did not mention a word about children…maybe she is one of those “career women”….probably for the best–dragging children around the country is hard on kids anyway!

  14. If I hadn’t left Seattle when I retired three years ago, by now I’d probably be sleeping with a knife in my hand under a blue tarp in The Jungle on Beacon Hill and panhandling in front of the three gas stations and the Red Apple Market. Instead, I have a house that’s paid for and I take in more every month than I spend.

And I don’t lock my doors.

    1. Businesses will flee as well. Violence, destruction and taxation. Seattle City Council idiots are killing the city.
