Essex Porter celebrates 38 years at KIRO 7 this week. Essex Porter covers government and politics for KIRO TV. He began his broadcast career at KLMS Radio in Lincoln, Nebraska, then served as a television reporter at KETV in Omaha, and KATU in Portland before joining KIRO.
Always polished and professional, but still down-to-earth and relatable. 38 years is a long time in any field, but a rarity in broadcasting. Congratulations, Essex!
There is a select group of stand-out performers that have such longevity in local tv news.
