  1. I never had a desire to work in Christian radio nor any other type of religious radio. When KXA, went from Old Gold to religious, it essentially became a separate station from KYYX, which was “Rock Of The 80s at the time, while KXA would then be “Rock Of Ages”. Pause for laugh track. They were both owned by O’Day Broadcasting.
Whatever hours I lost at KXA, were picked up at KYYX.
In late summer of ’83, KYYX began downsizing staff as it was planning a move from Downtown Seattle to Madison Park on the shores of Lake Washington, the new studio would allow DJs to now broadcast live. That is when I left the station.
I would return briefly when it became KKMI and I would work an overnight shift on Saturday night for a short time.
Working at KYYX was an exciting time and I stay in touch with Pat, Garry, Jerry, and Jeff O’Day on social media.
Thank you for the plug, Jason!
