COX Media Sale; Radio Stations Sold To Apollo Global Management

While not directly related to the Seattle market, the radio stations of COX Media are being sold to Apollo Global Management, the company buying KIRO 7 Seattle from COX Media. That’s 61 radio stations to be added to the growing media giant, Apollo. Watch what happens. There is such consolidation going on in the industry, that it will limit job prospects in the future for many. Try not to burn your bridges with your current employer, SINCLAIR, TEGNA, APOLLO, FOX… The stations will remain under the COX Media name. COX will hold a minority interest, and the company will be based in Atlanta.
