Wash. FM stations & applications – 1947

These listings are from 1947 issues of “Broadcasting Yearbook” & “Radio Annual” listing FM stations on-air, or applications & construction permits (CP).  Note that Dorothy Bullitt had her first application for an FM station as Western Waves Inc.  She had not yet purchased Evergreen Broadcasting’s 1090 KEVR-AM nor KRSC-FM & TVKEVR-FM is a “phantom station” that, to my knowledge, was never constructed & made it to air.  I cannot find any historical documentation about KEVR-FM or whether it existed.

I will do future blogs on Pacific Northwest “phantom stations” – both radio & TV.  These are stations that never progressed beyond FCC applications; licensed but unbuilt CP’s; and short-lived stations that existed for a period of time & then went silent – deleting licenses & dismantling facilities.
