Bellingham’s 1550 KOQT began life in the 1960’s, but as a low powered daytimer struggled to stay on air with numerous “silent” periods as the station was rarely financially viable. After a number of formats, including country, top 40 & MOR the station settled on syndicated religious programming & music. Today the station is full-time 50kW/10kW KRPI LMA’ing Surrey BC’s “Sheri-Punjab Radio”. Very shortly Sheri-Punjab will be launching it’s own station – 600 CKSP in Vancouver. It remains to be heard what will get replaced on KRPI.
