Market veteran Sean Demery passes

We’ve received word that one-time market veteran Sean Demery has passed away:

Sean Demery, a major-market programmer, consultant and strategist, has died, eight months after a catastrophic brain-stem stroke. He particularly left his mark on the Atlanta market, where Ajc.com’s Rodney Ho calls Demery “the quirky music impresario who helped launch” alternative rock 99X in 1992 as music director. He worked there two different times. Sean directly programmed stations such as alternative “Live 105” KITS in San Francisco. He did mornings on the former “Mountain” KMTT in Seattle and worked in Riverside (KGGI), Fresno, and Salt Lake City (“X96” KXRK and then-KLRZ). Sean had joined Alpha in Spring 2017 to program its adult alternative KINK/101.9. —-Tom Taylor  (via TomTaylorNow.com)
