Another leaves Seattle TV: Jade Elliott (Good Day Seattle) @ FOX 13 KCPQ. “LIFE UPDATE: My time at Fox 13 Seattle has come to an end. The yellow brick road took us to the emerald city but as we know not all dreams work out in reality… so it’s back to eastern Washington for the Elliotts because as we know there is no place like home.”
I’m willing to bet more people are quitting the business over working conditions than paychecks. No one wants to stay with a company that has poor management, favoritism, office politics, etc. I think there is a lot of that and the working reporter gets the brunt of it. The 5pm news anchor not so much. My opinion is, if I am not happy with the environment, I bounce.
I agree I think Jade Elliott will be missed Taylor is just not up to the same level as Jade was
Taylor seems to do better when she’s out in the field reporting sometimes when I see her in studios like she’s got the deer in the headlight look and you can tell she’s reading off a script
A couple weeks ago I made a comment on the Fox 13 social media that they should remove Mireya from the 4:30 to 7:00 a.m. shift with John Hopperstad.
The one thing I noticed about Garcia there’s been way mornings when I wake up and turn the news on she looks like she just got out of bed no makeup her cheeks are all shiny on the camera from the lights and her hair is a mess I had one day about an hour and a half into it then she put lipstick on. Another day she looked to me like she just got out of bed her hair was a mess and then when she got over to their Studio 13 show at 10:00 you can tell if she had straightened out her hair and put her lipstick on but no makeup
Of all the studio newscasters on all the TV stations I think she is the worst when it comes to her appearance and there was a story that they did On Studio 13 and they were talking about appearances and how some people don’t care she’s one of them
And the other one at Fox 13 which I think is terrible is Nikki Torres. Most of the time she comes on air and her hair is unkept no makeup on her skins all shiny and she doesn’t smile she always has a blase look

Most of the time her hair is straight it’s unkept no makeup on if anything and yet she’s got shiny forehead shiny cheeks and she talks with no smile more like a frown. The only time she is different is when she fills in on the weather forecast on the weekend and she actually curls her hair and smiles a little bit but most of the time I think she sucks
So as it is now I don’t walk Fox 13 from 4:30 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. I’ll turn it on after Garcia gets off the newscaster’s desk and they replace her with Erin
if she’s there after 7:00 I won’t watch Fox 13
They’re going to have a big hole to fill with Jade gone again put Garcia out in the field and let her come back in and then go on Studio 13 and even now I noticed she isn’t is involved as much they’ve got Carly out in the field doing interviews and stuff she’s really good Garcia is just missing something

That is a huge loss at Q13, losing Jade Elliott from the weekend anchor position. As a reporter, she was succinct and focused. Pairing her with Taylor Winkle was a huge mistake, as she was forced to pick up the professionalism that Taylor lacks. They must have picked up Taylor for a song, as she comes across to a consumer such as myself as an uninformed anchor, reporter and parent still courting the “valley girl” mannerism that turns the weekend newscast into a complete sh#t show.
Jade’s professionalism will be sadly missed.
This is an impression of Taylor that I got initially. Hopefully, she can outgrow it or find a more suitable outlet for her energy. Maybe Tiktok.

Jade’s sudden departure (after less then a year) and the part where she writes “not all dreams work out in reality” leaves me to believe that it wasn’t her choice to leave.
Maybe Kris Ankarlo will find work as an actual radio news reporter instead of having to scout and shout about those “people who let me share their stories”.
That is a hackneyed phrase “tell their stories”.
Winkie just needs to complete her “package” with on-camera open-mouth Chiclet chewing and signing off with “Oh my God, I’m totally buggin’.”
Agreed. Elliott was the only news professional keeping that circus of a weekend morning show going. Great rack as well.
