What happened to Francella Perez? She was the BEST Weather meteorologist on KUSI because she knew what she was taking about! I do not care for Mark Mathis doing the evening weather.
Elizabeth was a true gem. I don’t want to go on about how good she was but I looked forward to seeing her on Saturday mornings from 8 to 10 a.m. because she was charming, intelligent, and had a warm rapport with all of the guests and her co-anchor. She was a natural. Replacing her with the young, inexperienced anchors made me lose respect for the station. I had called the station manager multiple times about the lack of diversity but he blew me off like I was some sort of oddball from another planet. Why aren’t there more reporters from the African-American and Asian communities working for KUSI? I love the way their delve into San Diego specific stories but they need to be more inclusive in the newsroom. That’s all.

I miss Elizabeth, too. Beautiful, WELL-DRESSED, HAIR ALWAYS LOOKS GREAT, intelligent, great personality, lovely smile. KUSI let go of a real gem. Now that Mark Mathis is only on the weekends, the morning show has gotten SOOO boring! After I read that Rudi and Finney changed their stories during the Sandra Maas trial and backstabbed her, I really don’t have any respect for either one.
Paul Rudi is the worst news anchor. Stick to sports Rudi.
I’m watching Elizabeth Alvarez on Fox 5. Used to watch 9 but I don’t like some of the recent changes. I like Mark Mathis for weather but think Dave on 5 is doing a good job. Miss Mark though, he has a personality!
Liked Paul on early morning 9 but Laura doesn’t have a sense of humor. However, Fox 5 has my viewership now.
I wondered where Elizabeth Alvarez had gone, since I am a big fan. Just happened on Fox’s news program this morning and, low and behold, there she was! I hope Fox made her a great deal, as she’s worth it. I miss her on KUSI, lots of changes there, not all for the better. That said, I prefer them over Fox, as they cover San Diego’s issues more thoroughly. Best of luck, Elizabeth!

I don’t miss her. When delivering any story she would say, ‘ya know?’ No, Elizabeth, I don’t know. That’s why I’m watching the news…to find out. Ya know? I do switch over to Fox 5 sometimes, but the second I see Elizabeth, I switch to a different station.
You have my thoughts word for word. In fact, I would say them often during her broadcasts.
To be fair, I caught a couple of her broadcasts at her new job and she was perfect in her delivery. She dropped no Ya Know’s during those broadcasts.
So Glad to see Elizabeth Alvarez on Fox 5 San Diego…. She still does those tough assignments and did a great job as anchor last weekend…

Milkowski left KUSI without an on-air goodbye and dropped off of social media at that time, her last posting was in October 2022. Alvarez is very professional. I found KUSI to become very wearisome with the constant joking around, that Mark Mathis guy who thinks he is the cutest thing on the planet, and the constant emphasis on Prep Pigskin Report (or whatever it is called) which is merely high school football. How many viewers give a heck about high school football? Humbug !

Elizabeth has shown her versatility and attributes that Fox 5, as a network affiliate, can use. She’s a great talent -and a great smile.
Why did Liz leave KUSI? They offered her anchor jobs, they offered her in the field job, day or night. I’m confused
The plantation mentality is alive among the minorities, and the politicians keep throwing the race card to keep that fervor heightened.
There is no good argument for forced diversity in the news room other than to kowtow to the loud minority that corporate America fears. Blacks are 13% of the population. They are not backed by white politicians, except to get their vote. That goes for Hispanics and Asians as well. Politicians of color got to where they are by hard-work, raising lots of money, kissing ass and sleeping with the right people. The same way white politicians got where they are.
Minorities have been fooled and are fooling themselves to think that the majority of people in America give a damn the color or ethnicity of the newscaster, except that most Americans believe filling quotas in hiring is not the answer. Hiring must be done on the basis of qualified talent. Not simply in order to have a rainbow of minorities at the newsdesk. Hiring quotas are supported by: minorities and the politicians hoping to get the vote of the minorities. Hiring quotas brought us Ryan Yamamoto and Rhonda Lee.
This is why I stopped watching KUSI, they got rid of all the non white, no diversity at all! It’s a shame. Good for you Elizabeth, I now watch you on Fox 5!
Receiving news without blaming conservatives, especially Trumpers, is a rare breath of fresh air. Elizabeth often tainted her reactions to her news stories with liberal reactions. She drank the cool-aid. If I wanted that kind of propaganda I could turn on MSNBC or CNN.
It’s about time Liz! KUSI is a one sided news station, notably for trumpers. You deserve better. Best of luck and success to you in your new job!
