The group is working out some “kinks” but should be able to start using the new call letters by August 30th.

KNKX? huh? ‘Kinks’ is exactly my thought when first seeing these new call letters, not ‘Connects’ The decision not to select any calls suggesting either news or jazz leaves programming change options open to Friends of 88.5

KJBN in keeping with the format. KJBX — they didn’t even come close. It is somewhat of a disappointment to an old fart like me. After 50 or so years of KPLU, rolling off the tongue, now we have an actual 4-syllable word. Much too difficult! I will call it KINKS 88.5

KJBN would have made more sense. My submission was similar: KNJZ “News-Jazz 88.5”
