The Radio Battlefield Discussed by Ron & Don

When Ron & Don were fired from KIRO, January 2019, a lot of people wondered why this happened. Since then, Ron & Don have developed a real estate career and a podcast together. At the time they were fired, Dave Pridemore, vice president and market manager for Bonneville Seattle, had no comment. Ron & Don talk about this on their latest podcast. You can hear that podcast on Anchor.FM, Apple podcasts, etc. This is a fairly revealing chat, in the Ron & Don style.

A new day has come to Bonneville radio. Bonneville recently shuffled the deck chairs, and there is a new SVP/Market Manager at the Bonneville cluster in Seattle. Cathy Cangiano. Cathy was Director of Sales for KIRO-AM/FM, KTTH-AM, and MyNorthwest.com.

With Jubal Fresh (what’s with the name change?) taking over mornings at KBKS 106.1, his bride Alex, is part of the deal. She cohosts, and of course there will be a third person co-hosting, that name to be announced later.

So, Carla Marie & Anthony have left KBKS 106.1 FM. They have been doing the morning show at KISS FM since May of 2018 and joined iHeart/Seattle radio in January 2016 at the start of POWER 93.3 KPWK.

On his Twitter feed, Anthony (no last name here) explained that he put everything into the four and a half years at KBKS, which he referred to as, “an experiment. The experiment failed.”

Carla Marie is reflective, Tweeting that she often put her career before family, and “FOR WHAT?”

Molly Mesnick, former Bachelor tv contestant, is part of the change happening at KBKS 106.1, because she is now the FORMER midday personality there. Mesnick joined KBKS in 2014 as co-host of the morning show. As for a comment, Molly Tweeted “Whoa! (with unhappy face emoticons)”.

Peace Out!
