  1. In the fifties, sometimes after dinner I’d grab a couple of friends and we’d head for KOL. Bob Waldron would always let us in and we’d hang around for an hour or so. One time, he wanted to play “Moonglow”, but not the orchestral version that had been out in 1956. He knew there was a swingin’ “Moonglow” recording but he couldn’t find it. I knew the one he meant because I owned that record by Ernie Freeman and the Scooby-Doo All-Stars. I told him I’d hunt for it in the library. About a minute later, I handed it to him. I think he was surprised. He played it right away and my buds were really impressed!

  2. As a kid in the 60’s I have fond memories of riding my bike there from the Riverview area. Music from the mudflats.
