NBC News Radio comes to KIXI and KKNW. Paradigm shift in ratings predicted. Rumors abound regarding new category on stations’ rate cards . . . will Dollar-a-Holler be replaced by Buck-and-a half Bonanza?

NBC News and the John Tesh show. Just not as good as when Wally Nelskog programmed “finer music” on KIXI. I don’t think network news has an impact on attracting listeners any more.
Especially since NBC Radio News hasn’t been owned by NBC since 1987. It belongs to I-Harm Radio now. They broadcast nonstop all hour long like AP Radio. Everything repeats itself every 10 or 12 minutes. I wouldn’t call the announcers quite network quality.
ABC and CBS still have reputable radio news utilizing all their network news resources. I enjoy listening to KMMR Malta, live radio with mostly classic rock and a tiny bit of country, high school sports, and the full five minutes of ABC News every hour on the hour. Local news and local sponsors. Good easy-going deejays. Real time checks and weather too.
I tuned into KMMR and the weather forecast called for some West Coast smoke moving in on Sunday. Happy to share it. Most of it is arson caused.
