KIRO Radio 97.3 FM is looking for an evening talk talent. This is a golden opportunity with one of the nation’s most established and respected news/talk stations. We’re looking for a fun, entertaining and well-informed individual that can deliver remarkable content that attracts an Adults 25-54 audience. In addition, qualified candidates should be able to regularly contribute to the various digital platforms including, but not limited to regular blogs, podcasts and/or videos, online listener chats and use of other social media platforms in addition to emerging digital technologies.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to plan, research, develop, prepare, produce and deliver compelling content in an entertaining
and professional manner.
Ability to build audience by connecting on a personal level with listeners/users and generating loyalty.
Ability to work independently at times, but also able to take direction from management and
supervisors.
Must be an entertainer with a sense of humor, able to use humor on-air
Must be passionate, opinionated and insightful
Assertive attitude with a strong desire to advance in the broadcast media.
Familiar with computer software, possess basic computer skills and have basic knowledge of social
media platforms. Able to learn new systems quickly and use to contribute to the creation of digital
content. (Regular blogs, online listener chats, updates of a variety social media forums.)
Develop relationships, sources and contacts
Multi-tasking pro. Ability to be organized with the capability to concentrate on more than one event at
a time. Able to follow written and verbal instructions under moderate supervision.
Proven ability to work under pressure to meet daily/weekly deadlines and handle stress.
Willing to be active in the community.
Self-starter with a strong work ethic and the ability to assure accuracy in on-air product. Errors may
incur financial time loss.
Ability to work closely with the sales department to develop and enhance client relationships and
revenue
Work effectively in a team environment.
Consistently works hours required. Flexible hours required to meet deadlines including weekends,
holidays, evenings, early mornings, etc.
Work in compliance with Company policies and procedures.
Maintain a positive and cooperative rapport with staff, management, and clients.
Project an appropriate professional appearance and demeanor.
Must attach aircheck with resume and application.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATONS:
Major Market hosting experience (1-2 years)
Audition may be required
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Receive, deliver, process, and maintain information through oral and/or written communication
effectively.
Substantial physical movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction with good eye and hand coordination.
Lift, move, and carry up to 20 pounds on occasion.
