KING 5 Evening Magazine’s Kim Holcomb announces:
It feels surreal to post this but I’m making a major life change: I’ve decided to not renew my contract and I’m leaving KING & Evening. I’m so proud of everything I’ve accomplished during my almost 18 years at the station, and I’m eternally grateful for every viewer who’s watched and supported our show. But, a lot has changed in the past 1.5 years and I feel like it’s time to step away, move forward and try something different (which sounds like a weird jig but YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN.) I’m not sure what comes next, but I’m thrilled to find out! Thanks for being a part of my little life.
Thanks to EstoyListo for the heads up on this story!

Dear Kim…
I don’t completely agree with this ol saying “WHY DO ALL GOOD THINGS HAVE TO COME TO AN END”. But in your case Kim, we are experiencing just that. I’m a 74 Year old grandpa and Seattle lifer and I will miss you tremendously. You have touched all of the NW with your smile, laughter, and kindness. And least I forget, putting up with the boys! The best to you and your family Kim wherever life takes you.
We miss you terribly, Kim Holcomb!!!!!
We wish you all the best in whatever your next endeavor will be🩷 Her shoes can never be filled by another host!! Love you Kim
Best regards,
Robin D
we watched every night. so so sad to see Kim leave. not sure we will continue to watch. we are not happy with king 5 taking Angela and Kim off the show. what are you doing to evening magazine king 5? we as long time viewers we are not happy.
Kim off the show. we love John and Saint too please leave them.
What a shame! She was my favorite, always genuinely intrigued and thoughtful. She gave the best celebrity interviews. Saint and John… well. I hope they can carry the weight. I hope she lands somewhere cool where she is appreciated and will flourish.
Like so many above–sorry to see Kim go and she will truly be missed. Good luck to her in whatever adventures await.
So sad to hear Kim is leaving Evening. Love her laugh & she is the best interviewer out there. If she’s intimidated by a celeb, it doesn’t show, she is still her genuine self. King5, don’t let her go! Love you Kim. Wishing you success & happiness in whatever you do next.
Kim we enjoyed watching you! You were a big part of the trio. Wishing you all the best in what ever you do. You are the best!! Joan and Bob Hertel
Why not share why Kim is leaving?
What did the KING 5 CEOs do to her?
We love her, we love all of Evening,
But…
All of the City of Seattle is going down tubes, rules are ignored, crime is rampant, so I hope she will go somewhere safe and enjoy.
Yea it will come out soon. Read between the lines. Kim will be hard to replace. Bit I guess I said the same about John Curley!
I’ve been watching Evening Show since it’s inception. Kim is by far my favorite.! Sorry to see her go.
Sorry to see Kim leave. She is a true asset to Evening Magazine. We have been watching it since it began with Penny and Brian. I saw her on Amity’s program today and sounded like she might know what she will be up to but couldn’t say or maybe I was just reading something into the conversation.
All the best to you, Kim. You will truly be missed.
Will miss Kim. Who is bigger disappointment King 5 or Mariners.
Mariners. They are a garbage franchise. I wish Stanton would sell to an owner that cares about winning.
For someone like Kim to leave after so many years at a job she loves — there must be a problem at KING 5 no one is speaking about.
Going on what the stated hiring objectives of KING 5 are, Kim’s “exit” comes as no surprise. I always thought she did a good job and was largely responsible for it’s success.
So sorry to see Kim leaving KING 5. She is a fabulous member of the evening trio and her comments are well said. She is polished, professional and charming as an evening television host. Best Wishes in the future Kim!
Pay her and give her whatever she wants. She is an asset you can not afford to lose.
Oh I will miss her! All The Best!!
Evening Mag will not survive without Kim.Ive watched her every day since I moved to the Seattle area over 20 years ago. Goodbye Kim my family will miss seeing your face on TV, good luck in your new endeavor.
Sorry to see Kim go. She’s always been one of my favorites.
