New multi-station antenna for West Tiger Mountain

I’ve had a couple of emails in the last few days from readers who’ve commented on very poor signals on a number of Seattle-Tacoma FM’s.  One reader also reported a promo heard on 96.5 “JACK FM”  KJAQ warning listeners of low signal quality over the next month. A couple of Seattle engineers have told me this is due to replacement of the burned out multi-station antenna on West Tiger Mountain last year.  The weather is finally co-operating & installation is now taking place.  This means broadcasters using this facility are using their low powered auxilliary antennas located on Cougar Mountain or elsewhere. Up to now, a temporary antenna has been in place on West Tiger but now the upgrade to a permanent radiator is necessary.  Fair warning to listeners – it isn’t your receiver at fault when favorite stations sound much weaker or keep fading out while mobile.
