Piper Shaw graduated from St. Cloud State University with a double major in Broadcast Journalism and Communications, along with a minor in Marketing in December 2017. She began her broadcasting career at NBC 15 News (WMTV/Madison, WI.) before moving to Rush Media Company as a sideline reporter. Piper covered the Wisconsin Badger hockey team for Fox Sports Wisconsin for three seasons, where she was involved in both rinkside reporting and producing intermission and multimedia content. She also reported on high school sports and for the Big East Conference on BEDN and FS1.
In the summer of 2021, Piper Shaw relocated to Seattle to take up a position as a reporter and host with ROOT SPORTS for the Seattle Kraken. Her work with the Kraken includes hosting the official team podcast, “Signals From The Deep.” Shaw is enthusiastic and has a deep understanding of the game, a love for hockey and her connection with the fans.
Shaw returned to the Kraken broadcast team after the team’s transition from ROOT Sports to KHN. She has a quirky and independent personality, with interests outside of broadcasting that include music (Punk Rock) – she plays several instruments and you can sample her tunes on Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes and other platforms.
