What you tryin’ to sell me KIRO7?

KIRO 7 anchor Aaron Wright threw it to a supposed consumer expert during the afternoon newscast Sunday and viewers got a commercial from an outfit called LOCALSTEALSANDDEALS.COM which hawks items like wearable cooling fans. This QVC-like advertisement was presented as if this was a “news you can use” item. I call B U L L S H I T on this! KIRO 7 has gone to shit. Someone needs to call Jesse Jones. We done been ripped off by a once credible news source.

  1. These are on other stations too I think Channel 4 has them and you know the prices aren’t that great they make it sound like it it

Just like watching the show on Channel 4 called Seattle refined. As far as I’m concerned that’s a half hour infomercial just with shorter segments

The company’s pay for that just like they would have commercial but they get extra minutes to sell their product and the host will talk up anything for the money he’s changed automobiles so many times and roofing companies and cabinet companies he’s just a money hoe

  2. Steals and Deals are a must-run segment for all Cox-owned stations across the country. Been that way now for a few years. Not unlike KOMO running health reports that were sponsored by an out-of-town outfit and aired on all Sinclair stations. They promoted the Huntsman Cancer Clinic in Utah. No longer.

    1. I have a problem with the presentation. Run it as a spot, don’t present it as a news segment. KIRO 7’s credibility takes a hit each time. I suppose the financial kickback is worth it. That is all that matters to corporate after all.

        1. So much for credible news sources. If they will sell peddle gadget sales as consumer news, what else will they give away for a price. It is BS and KIRO is in no way a trusted news source under these conditions.
