Vic Faust, former FOX 2/St. Louis news anchor, ousted after an off-air bitch session at a St. Louis radio station in September of 2022, is back in hot water. Crystal Cooper, former co-host of the morning radio show at KFNS 100.7 has filed a lawsuit against Faust, accusing him of defaming her, assaulting her, and restraining her from leaving the broadcast booth during a tirade by Faust. The team was in commercial break at the Viper/KFNS when Faust unleashed his anger at Cooper. Someone in the booth recorded the action and for his behavior, Faust lost both his radio and television gigs and faced public ridicule. Faust currently hosts a podcast/vidcast, CANCEL THIS SHOW, which can be viewed on Youtube, among other podcast aggregators. According to the lawsuit, which was filed in St. Charles County Circuit Court, Faust launched into an extended outburst that criticized Cooper for her weight and parenting skills, using profanity at least 40 times and calling her “fat,” “stupid,” and “nasty.” Faust was fired his news anchor gig at KTVI 2 about a week after the incident, and Cooper quit working at the radio station (KFNS) shortly after. The lawsuit also accuses Faust of “false imprisonment” and of assaulting Cooper through his behavior during the outburst. The defamation allegations are connected to Faust’s podcast, where he allegedly claimed that Cooper had orchestrated the confrontation that cost him his job. These claims, the suit states, have damaged Cooper’s reputation. The lawsuit asks for “in excess of $25,000” for each of three counts and an unspecified amount of punitive damages. Faust’s morning vidcast is full of right-wing conspiracies and very local to the Missouri area. Unless he can dig himself out of these legal debts and expand the vidcast to serve a national audience with topics of general interest–he is wasting his time. (My 2 cents)
