I think that as the years slowly passed, Pat was able to embrace the label of “Legend”. A note on KYYX. It’s last few months, it had moved to the wealthy, stylish Seattle enclave of Madison Park, where, if I remember, it was live.
Herein, O’Day explains how KYYX/KXA was voice-tracked. In case anyone thought it was live. It sounded disconnected, Ryan & Ryan were mediocre talents at best. Maybe not even cut out for a major market, but it seemed to work in Seattle in 1981 – and voice-tracked. (Sad!)
Last I heard, he was selling real estate in Kent. Gary’s real name is Gordon Stephens. I find no information regarding his passing. Do you have source?
Ryan, Ryan, Linton, Stephens, Bob, Gary… you are correct. It appears he did pass away. The KBSG Reunion in his honor happened this month, based on that Facebook post.

I believe it is Bobby Ryan whose real name is Gordon Stephens. Gary Ryan, and this is hearsay, was originally, Gary Linton. Here is a link to something on Facebook about Mr. Ryan’s passing.
