Melanie Hunter Out @ KCRA; John Evans Signs Off @ KCBS

Melanie Hunter
After nearly five years with KCRA 3/Sacramento, meteorologist and traffic reporter Melanie Hunter is off to Boston as a tv meteorologist there. This move takes Hunter to WHDH 7.

This is happening everywhere: Tv news reporters being sent to walk-thru Halloween haunted houses on live tv. And news personalities dancing.

As mentioned (10/21), John Evans has now retired from radio this morning being his final day on-air [KCBS Radio video]. From his LinkedIn bio: KISW Seattle April 1978 – June 1979 : I worked for Program Director Beau Phillips. I did weekday morning news on the Terry MacDonald show and hosted a current events talk show from 6-8am called “Saturday Morning Live.” We had a magic staff in those days including Gary Crow, Steve Slaton, Gary Bryan and a newsman we hired from the local R&B station KYAC. His name is Mike West. Mike became our afternoon news guy. He would eventually become teamed up with new morning man John Langan (Langan and West) and later Gary Crow (Crow and West). Under Beau’s leadership, KISW would begin a whole new era heavy on talent, personality and promotion. He was an excellent coach and a strong motivator. My work caught the attention of a talent scout from CBS in Los Angeles.

People are testing the water at Twitter.com now that Elon Musk has taken over and the old guard has been fired or shut out from coding and input to the system. There have been many bold political opinions floated in order to see how quickly or if they would be censored. There have also been hundreds, if not thousands of very offensive jokes targeting racial, sexual and religious themes. For the time being, Twitter has a sense of humor again.
