Squatters Steal Priceless Drum Kit

It was 42 years ago this month I was hired at my first radio job. In small towns you often read a “Lost And Found” bulletin on-air. I was amazed on the high percentage of recovery. Wow, the power of radio and community together. Then last week Julian Lennon records “Imagine”. He said for so long he would never record his Dad’s song unless it was “the end of the world” (his words) He did the song to help raise money for Ukraine refugee’s. Then on my day off comes a call from a radio producer asking if I know Alan White and did I know about the home invasion by squatters. I did not. So, One, Two, Three! The power of radio, the power of community? Lets do this I say! Thank you again for all of you looking and sharing the info.

Have you seen this RV anywhere around Puget Sound? Newcastle detectives release photo and believe it belongs to squatters in the recent house break-in of legendary drummer Alan White. Many items taken included the drum kit he used in 1971 recording the song Imagine with John Lennon. Police say items stolen are being used to buy drugs around greater Seattle . Contact Newcastle Police if you see it. Thank you to all radio, television and media for sharing this story. It has reach national attention and also throughout the United Kingdome where Alan began his music career. Alan was planning to one day donate the drum kit to a museum for all to admire.

The picture below is ours to use that Alan White provided to me. Feel free to share.
During a recent overdue vacation with family his home on the Eastside area of Seattle was burglarized.
Detectives say “Squatters” broke in not knowing who’s home it was. Once they realized it was Alan White of “YES” and John Lennon’s “GO TO” Drummer.
They returned with even more people over the next few nights to grab many “collectables” including this “IMAGINE” Drum Kit that Alan used for songs “Instant Karma” and “Imagine”-
Update-some items have been found among encampment areas around Georgetown-South area Seattle.
Let’s find this drum set friends and fans. “See something Say something. Newcastle Police Dept are lead in this investigation. Message me is good as well.
