Thanks to DT for this news tip.
Do you remember when KJR asked listeners to call in news tips?
…Yes, and they paid cash for the “News Tip of the Week.” Um…I forget, how much is PSM paying now? 🙂
Mike,
Just the recognition from PSM for news tips would be enough for most readers, humbled by the tip of our hats.
But, it was our idea to go the extra mile and so we developed the PugetSound Media News Tip Recognition Certificate.
To the front of each certificate, we have attached the PSM Reporter of the Week Blue Ribbon.
The first certificate, awarded electronically, goes to DT,
And he can proudly display it whenever he wants to, by clicking this link:

(Cue the patriotic Breaking News music)
Priceless!! Congratulations, DT.
They even did it in Detroit on CKLW.
I think many major market stations used the news tip promotion to maintain loyal listeners. KOMO does it these days, tips@komonews.com
KIRO https://www.kiro7.com/station/about-us/submit-a-news-tip/
KUOW https://www.kuow.org/secure-news-tips
and the list goes on…
