Paris Jackson Departs KOMO

Paris Jackson has posted that she has signed off from KOMO 4. What she has planned is unknown at this time. Paris graduated Bellarmine Prep in Tacoma and Washington State University’s Edward R. Murrow College of Communication. Paris spent the last seven years at KOMO.

In 2018, Jackson shared with the KOMO viewers, her journey through a breast cancer battle. Paris Jackson was most recently, the morning news traffic reporter at Channel 4.

There is a traffic reporter position open at KOMO 4 in Seattle.

KOMO wasted not a minute removing Paris’ info from their website.

Hmmmm. There’s the door, have a nice day.

Was this her choice to leave? Did KOMO provide a box for Paris to take her belongings home?

The broadcast industry is a cold, cruel world.

We wish her well.

  1. I met Paris at the woman’s show at the T Done. She was very gracious. I enjoyed seeing her every morning. I did notice that at the end of the show when she moved to the desk with Ryan Y. and the other morning host it was apparent that she was not included in end of show comments. Thank you Paris I will always remember you. Shame on KOMO for pushing her out or letting her walk.

  2. I’ve grown up watching this channel with Steve Pool, Cathy and Dan Lewis.

I liked her on KOMO and heard she was battling breast cancer and suddenly she was gone. Just hoping and praying she was doing well. Miss seeing her on the news.

  3. It is now Decemember 9th,2021 have we heard how Paris & her family are doing and where she is as far as her career? We would like an update.
She missed. Sorry she felt she had no choice but to leave

  4. What a bunch of whiners on this page. White, Black, Yellow or Red.. Paris constantly made mistakes while reporting the morning traffic. From not being able to announce certain cities to getting confused on major road names. She was a train wreck. Her delivery wasn’t smooth and was uncomfortable to watch. You could tell Paris was nervous ALL THE TIME

    1. I didn’t see that in her performance. I thought she did a credible job on-air. Paris should have been familiar with the city names in the Northwest as she was educated in this area, a graduate of Bellarmine Prep, as mentioned here. Everybody has an opinion. I do think the TV business is a tougher nut to crack for millennials. That problem is the way they were raised, given everything, forgiven everything. We are seeing a lot of them fall by the wayside, with many blaming stress and mental fatigue. Stress drove a lot of old-timers to excel and improve. Paris left KOMO around the time of her pregnancy and no other reason was given. So, My 2 cents.

  5. Both my husband and I miss Paris. She always was so professional and had such a beautiful smile. I hope she knows how much she is missed and we pray for good health.

  6. Do not like Tyra she is to abrupt almost to the point of being rude. Like this morning when she was done with her report she said Christie. Usually when she comes on I turn to another channel M

  7. Paris Jackson- Always professional and well put together. Always felt KOMO didn’t treat her the way she deserved to be treated. Praying for her recovery from breast cancer and wishing her a career that soars higher than ever.

  8. I miss Paris in the morning the new reporter Tara not so thrilled. Paris reporting was calm professional Informative and pleasant. I wish her well wherever she is I wish I knew what happened to her she was a great reporter.

  9. I really miss Paris Jackson on the morning show! She was always joyful to watch and informative. My husband commuted to Seattle from Olympia and we were aware of any trouble spots by Paris. If you see this post, Paris, we will always be a fan and hope to see you again on perhaps another channel!

  10. So, ONLY whites are racist? Your remarks make me believe that you hate whitey. I think I am correct, based on the hate speak dripping from your comment. Play the race card much?
Blacks make up ony 13% of the US population. Do you need a black on each newscast to speak about any shootings, robberies, rapes and looting done by blacks? That would give that black reporter plenty of screen time, due to the number of crimes, black on white AND black on black.
What does it tell you about all the black people that support Trump? Are they Uncle Toms?
60% of white Americans are hateful people? Show us the survey that proves this. Where do you get your facts. BET? Ebony? Or just gossip between you and your friends.
    Joanne, you are racist,

  11. I had wondered what happen to Paris. Finally found out.
The media outlets in Seattle and Tacoma area too white. I don’t look at any local news that doesn’t have a dark black woman represent. I am tired of white people acting as if they are the only people that should represent all folks. White folks could never represent or speak on behalf of Black folks. We need our voices. White voices are only representing white folks. When reporting info on black folks. Clueless. I can imagine all the racist crap Paris went through especially with petty airhead white women.
I tuned in to see Paris. Watched her fight through cancer. Her biggest cancer was white folks. That was an existing cancer that just won’t go away for black women and other folks of color. No vaccine to cure white ignorance. Racism is practice by in secure white folks.
White people are the only group who has access to Affirmative action. Due to pale skin or white .
Trump one of the most evil inhumane people on earth occupies white house. White folks put him there as a whole. What does that tell you about white folks?
Bottom line. They pushed Paris out by disrespectful actions. I know for a fact, 60% of white America. Very hateful people.
I hope I am around when the 60% of white folks reap what they sole. If they don’t ,their offspring’s will. I believe in karma.

  12. When are we as a country are going to stop making it so hard for people of colour to pursue their careers Paris Jackson is a perfect example, KoMO news you should be ashamed of yourselves allowing Paris to be mistreated and leave the way she did it is obvious that there was some issues Paris may have had with how she was being treated, I believe she was discriminated against because of her colour that is why she exited the way she did.

  13. Sorry to see Paris Jackson’s gone from komo morning news. She was a shining star bright in the morning God bless her and family. PS black lives do matter ✌️💯❤️

  14. It was obvious to me that for the last year anyway, Paris Jackson was not treated the same as other morning members of the KOMO team. It was subtle, but clear. She was a breath of fresh air.
Shame on you morning KOMO team. You didn’t get away with it!

  15. So sad to hear that Paris Jackson is no longer with KOMO TV 4. She was a truly bright spot in the morning when watching the traffic report. I hope she is doing well and finds a new, exciting next chapter in her life! I wish you well and blessings, Paris!
    K. Wise Willmore

  16. Paris Jackson was delightful & a breath of refresh air each day we tuned in to Komo. Paris is a shining light that’s now missing from your staff! God’s richest blessings to Paris and her family. Blessings also to the Komo staff as they all do some soul searching. Praying for better days ahead!!!

  17. Dear Paris:

We no longer watch KOMO News since we found out you left!

We know your amazing talent for reporting and beauty and intelligence will find the perfect outlet for you.

But selfishly we miss you 💔😪💖💙💙💙💙🇱🇷 A 1994 Mom and Dad Bellarmine Alumn 💙🙏

    1. Usually, when a woman takes maternity leave, they return to the station and continue their career. On the other hand, it appears Paris may have chosen to spend more time with her new baby and family. Little is known about her future plans. Paris has been absent from social media since August 18th.

  18. Miss you Paris Jackson you where a bright spot In the morning. Miss you good luck with what ever you choose.

  19. I miss Paris Jackson. I thought she was wonderful. I want to send my best wishes and I am truly sorry she is no longer with you. She enriched the news.

  20. I looked forward to Paris’s reporting of our Seattle traffic and was one of the reasons I chose to view KOMO in the morning. Paris was very professional and personable. I believe her presence in the newsroom was a much needed representation of diversity that I find missing in her absence. I wish Paris the absolute best in her future endeavors whatever they may be. Many blessings!

  21. So sorry to hear she’s no longer with KOMO. It does seem KOMO has a lot of staffing changes. It doesn’t pay to get too comfortable if you work there.

  22. So sorry that Paris Jackson has left KOMO! She was one of the only people on the week day morning show I could listen to any more. Time to switch stations.

  23. I am very sorry to hear that Paris is gone and it looks like lots of changes at KOMOTV and not such good ones. I hope she finds what she is looking for and we all went thru her cancer with her and was glad when she was able to return to work. I am not sure the company SINCLAIR Broadcasting is what we in Seattle are for.

    1. Totally agree! I turned on to watch her & Seth. With both of them gone not crazy about the rest of the weekday crew.

  24. I wish only the best for you and your family, Paris! May God strengthen you to overcome both the health issues and those who have no empathy whatsoever. If Sinclair Broadcasting doesn’t appreciate you, then that is simply THEIR LOSS!!! Tacoma loves and appreciates you!!!

    1. We’re all pretty much part of the bottom line to the large corporations. Their bottom line is way more important to them than any human’s life. Now with all the failing small businesses from covid – 19 restrictions we’ll be seeing more of this type of thing unfortunately. Well wishes to you Paris . We will miss seeing you!

  25. I have been missing Paris and decided to look to see where she has been. But now I know and I am sad she is gone. I hope she wanted to go. It would’ve been nice if Komo give her a day of thanks and letting the public see her go….not just one day here and the next day gone.. What’s up with that? Miss you Paris!!

  26. I miss you Paris. The traffic report hasn’t been the same. Hope you’re doing well. Shame on you KOMO for not making a formal announcement and wishing her well.

  27. I Thought she was not happy with just doing Traffic each and every day! When she first came to KOMO she did on weekends the anchor desk and was very good I thought so I’m not sure what happened but I do hope she fine a job that she can grow!

  28. Traffic reporter is a dead-end job (no pun intended). You don’t need a college degree for this job. She probably wanted to be in a position commensurate with her education and experiences. Wishing her well in her future endeavors!

  29. I miss Paris Jackson, she did a wonderful job and my favorite reporter. Shame on KOMO if they did her wrong.

  30. What happened to Paris Jackson we could since something was amiss in her introduction each day was she hard to work with or was she simply mistreated?!!!

  31. See if KOMO can hire Audra Schroeder, who career resume includes KIRO-TV, NWCN(now defunct)& KGMI-AM, Bellingham to be their new AM traffic reporter. I hope they’re reading this.

  32. She was wonderful, yet obviously neglected on the air. Her name—especially her last name—was rarely mentioned, as opposed to “ and now, Meteorologist KRISTEN CLARK has your weather. How’s it looking, Kristen?” Etc. etc.
Bad on you KOMO. After many years, you are no longer my morning news station.

    1. I hope and wish Paris well sad to see her sign off.

God is love and so is Paris Jackson❤️🙏❤️

      Sincerely
      Inspired by Paris Jackson
