In 1968, WRFM, billing itself “Stereo 105”, and adopted a beautiful music format. The format was mostly instrumental with about one vocal every 15 minutes.
The station flipped to soft rock in 1986, as WNSR.
The airchecks presented here will focus on the lighter sound of WRFM, from 1968…
WRFM part 1 (6:15)
WRFM part 2 (15:14)
WRFM part 3 (15:27)
WRFM part 4 (10:12)
Thank you for the memories!!!!!
Great collection,Jason. I have that FM dial card in my desk drawer.
Thanks. I miss Beautiful Music on the radio. Those were good times.
Jason, “the good old days” is no cliche. Those were good times, and we who were lucky enough to work in radio helped create them. Fortunately, there is internet radio that reminds us of our good old days. We old people aren’t grumpy or crabby. We’ve just learned to ignore peer pressure, think for ourselves, and fearlessly express our opinions.
