Anti-Social Behavior Is In Vogue

While she won’t be renting a U-Haul truck for this move, Jaynie Dillon, formerly with KOMO/KKBY/KAYO/KNBQ/KTAC, takes to the Lone Star State Internet waves at BOSS COUNTRY RADIO (based in Amarillo) next week. Dillon will be voice-tracking from her home studio in University Place/Tacoma, keeping in mind the social distancing directives of the CDC. The BOSS COUNTRY RADIO playlist includes classic country from Jimmy Rodgers and Hank Williams to Randy Travis and Waylon Jennings.

Anyone have a “cranky old engineer story” to share? From Mike Barer at his blog, Barers of Maple Valley, “everytime a jock would play In-A-Gada-Da-Vida (the classic 27 minute song) the Cranky Engineer would screech into the parking lot fearing that the DJs were partying.” see MY KTEL DAYS

During this time of quarantines and toilet paper hoarding, QZVX invites everyone to submit those old airchecks. We can have a listening party, while keeping with social distancing. Airchecks, pictures, and stories. Submit them to mailbox@qzvx.com and we will post them on this site.

Knowing that most restaurants and stores are offering home-delivery these days, often for free, many families are ordering fast food for their stay-at-home meals. No long lines at the drive-thru. No need to change out of your pajamas. Now, many stores also offer delivery of alcohol. No need to get off the floor. Just crawl to your door and get curbside service. A $92 bottle of malt Scotch whiskey should get you through the night, along with your McDonald’s Double Big Mac and fries.

Rusty Coats, media analyst and consultant at Coats2Coats, told KIRO Nights, “For some media companies … it’s not going to be that bad, but it is going to thin the herd quite a bit. Coats expects that if the trajectory of the coronavirus continues on its current path, the United States could lose “up to half” of its local news outlets. See that article at MyNorthWest.Com

  1. The engineer at KYYX, I’ll just give you his initials, DW. Two words out of his mouth could turn a good day into a bad day.
But one saving grace, when I ran board over the New Year’s Eve remote, he told me I did a great job.

  2. Oh yes, the late Beven Roth, alias, the cranky engineer. Some family member will see this and think we are besmirching Mr Roth’s good name. But in reality, I had a lot of respect for him.
