As we ponder some of the puzzling changes by regional stations implementing all-Christmas music formats then seemingly reverting back to their regular programming, we’ve received this message from 104.1 KAFE Brand Manager Scotty VanDryver:
Hey Mike.
I came across your blog post about KAFE Bellingham dropping Christmas music. While a simple tune in during the day might lead one to believe that, I wanted to reach out with a clarification about our programming strategy for the holidays.
From now through December 13th, we are playing Christmas music during our “Christmas Nights” feature each weeknight from 8pm-Midnight AND on Saturdays and Sundays as part of our “Holiday Shopping Weekends.” The rest of the day is our regular programming. On December 14th, we will flip to all Christmas music as part of the “12 Days of Christmas Music.”
We’ve found this programming strategy has worked well for us in the past giving listeners the best of everything the season has to offer. Thanks Mike. Have a great day!
