At that time KKOL was set to boost power to 50,000 watts. KAPY at 1290 was shuttered in order to insure no interference to the Salem ‘Tower of Business Talk Power.’ KKOL FM call letters are used on an FM station in Hawaii… Is it CAREER OVER for GARY CROW ? The goons at Sinclair are probably waiting for virtual reality (VR) to get perfected in robots. We’re close to that for audio creation & video can’t be soon far behind. Maybe TV anchors of the future will be animated creations with VR installed, as will all VT on radio. …Or robots that can converse/interact with one another. Why bother with humans?

Sinclair and others will consolidate newsroom into hubs. Local news will be a thing of the past. I think we will see regional news reports – at best.
