Time For A KOOL Change ?

Radio music choice is no longer tied to the local market. If what you want to hear is not provided by a regional station, reach for that website or Internet Radio station that matches your preference.
While tuning about the Internet Radio dial last night, I found an Oldies station that focuses on Pre-Beatle years in general. KFXM Lancaster, California, described in Wikipedia:
KFXM-LP (96.7 FM) is a low-power FM radio station broadcasting an oldies music format, from a large record library spanning the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, with over 35000 selections in rotation, including novelties and instrumentals. Licensed to Lancaster, California, USA, the station is owned by The Organization For the Preservation & Cultivation of Radio, a non profit 501-c3. The original KFXM was the Top Forty-formatted station at 590 kHz on the AM band in the San Bernardino and Riverside, California, market area. KFXM continues to air the original KFXM jingles amid the 35000 selections that play on the station 24/7. KFXM strives to present its programming in the same way as if it were 1960 again.

Bristol Stomp – The Dovells ’61
Percolator Song – Billy Joe & The Checkmates ’62
Hit Record – Brook Benton ’62
Honey Love – Drifters ’54
Talk To Me Baby – Barry Mann ’64
Gimme Dat Ding – The Pipkins ’70
Ebony Eyes – Everly Brothers 1961
Got To Get It On Again – The Addrisi Brothers ’72

Personally, I don’t want to hear the formulaic Oldies playlist, Beatles, James Taylor, Supremes — If I hear “Brown-Eyed Girl” every four hours, I am listening to the wrong station. But that is just me. Sounds like KFXM won’t repeat songs too often. If you like this type of music, this is a station you can listen to for longer periods. KFXM And, because this is a non-commercial station, fewer interruptions-more music!
